JITM Review Board Member Information
The JITM review process has been simplified using a fully online review system at http://jitmreview.ubalt.edu/openconf/openconf.php
and we only accept and reject recommendations. We will no longer
provide recommendations for improvement of manuscripts submitted to the
JITM. Authors should have obtained feedback and improved their
manuscripts through peers, presentation in conferences, and other
venues before submitting manuscripts to the JITM. Only format changes
related with the JITM manuscript style will be provided to the authors.
- Accept: corresponds to the old categories of Accept without
modifications and of Accept with minor modifications. In the rationale
explaining this recommendation the reviews may suggest areas of
improvement, if any. This information will be given to the author(s) so
that they may decide to improve their manuscript, or keep as it is, but
this is not a condition of the manuscript acceptance.
- Reject: corresponds to the old categories of Accept
with major modifications and Reject. In the rationale explaining this
recommendation the reviews may suggest areas of improvement, if any.
This information will be given to the author(s) but the manuscript will
not be accepted for publication in the JITM.
What is expected from a review board member:
- Complete an assigned review within five to six weeks. The JITM aims to provide decisions to authors in eight to nine weeks.
- Submissions
are judged using two categories: accept and reject. There is no revise
and resubmit
category. Comments should be terse and brief, not a contribution for
paper improvement. Detailed contributions to the manuscript should have
taken place in conferences, prior to submission to the JITM.
- Favor more comprehensive studies, even if the method is not as good as it might have been.
- Favor
empirical studies versus other types of studies and manuscripts. Short
studies and case study submissions are acceptable, in addition to fully
developed studies.
- There is no "type of submission" acceptable in the JITM. See what was published in the JITM for an idea of the diversity of
manuscripts that were accepted by the JITM.
- The scope of submissions to the JITM are described in the JITM Information System Scope and Topics.
The information you need to provide if you are interested to be a JITM Editorial Review Board member:

- A resume (attached to the above e-mail), or a link to a Web page with
